INTRODUCTION
"Hello students, I am officially your friendly neighborhood Canadian art teacher. I have been warned that out of respect for myself and for you guys that I should use my last name in the classroom. Unfortunately, I can allow myself to bend such a simple rule and I think using Miss before my last name makes me sound old. Anyway, with just as much respect for myself and you guys I ask that you call me by my first name, Lucinda. Now, since I have no intention of sounding proper with my first name either, if you so choose and feel comfortable with it you can just call me Lucy. This may all seem like a lot of information and considering what I am wearing taking me seriously might be hard for you all. I do intend to hold high standards for my high school students even if I as a teacher come to school in pajama bottoms or as I plan to do next week, come in wearing a Tardis dress. Oh, and if you have no idea what a Tardis is I will enjoy teaching this school year.
I have only two simple rules in my classroom. What happens in the art room stays in the art room, always try to have fun, and don't criticize or hurt others. Hm, I guess I actually had three. I understand that you may only think of this as a period where you can let go and use as some sort of study hall, but I want you to give art some respect. I like seeing you being creative even if we are doing nothing really interesting. Engaging in the class will get you an A, whether you are interested in it or not and even if you only know how to draw stick figures. Like all your other classes you have come here to learn. Now learning doesn't necessarily mean no fun and that is what I will try to teach you all throughout the year. Well class, here is my syllabus that I was required to write. Got to get you all preped for those college years! I believe that is about all. I do talk too much, so it seems to be the end of the period. Have a nice day!"

LETTER
Dear Miss Kriegel,
My name is Keaton Brooke, principal of the high school. We have noticed you have been using some very unorthodox methods to teach the students. I am sure that you understand that these methods have led to attention and pressure from the school board onto our school. Personally for me, I see no problem in your methods because you're well received by both parents and students alike. In the end, we as the school do not call the shots and our superintendent will always have the last say in problems like these. As a school we are kindly asking you to change your teaching methods or risk suspension. By sending you this letter I believe we as a school are only looking out for your well being. No one blames you, of course, because we all understand you are still a young teacher and have not had the many years of experience that other teachers have had. Please consider your options carefully and choose what you believe is best for your career.
Sincerely, Keaton Brooke

Dear Miss Kriegel,
I sincerely apologize for what could have been taken as a threat in my previous letter to you. Although, they may have seemed like threats I believe I only provided them as a friendly warning. I understand that you wanted a suspension over the change in your teaching method, and the school board has agreed to let you teach at the school again. This decision has been made after many strong complaints from parents and students alike. It seems that despite your odd method you have created a greater impact over the students than we as a school realized. I again apologize, and hope to see you at school.
Sincerely, Keaton Brooke.

HISTORY
Lucy liked to call herself a lucky child. She was the third adopted child of a Canadian missionary man by the name of Roman Kriegel. Her memories before being adopted had never been quite clear and she had always been fine with that. She loved her father and didn't have any intention to go looking for her real parents and break her teddy bear type dad's heart. Throughout the years she grew up watching her father being broken by each girl who got into his head and eventually into his heart. It wasn't exactly a sad sight just a dose of reality for poor Mr. Kriegel, who still very much believed in fairy tales even after his little girls grew up. Roman's adopted children almost seemed to act like the parents sometimes and this made the family a very odd sight.
This never bothered Lucy one bit, but she couldn't say the same for her siblings. She embraced the oddness of her family and almost seemed to live it out. Of course it didn't seem to help that she was diagnosed with ADHD and had proven herself to be the most eccentric Kriegel child. This didn't rock the Kriegel family's boat one bit. Lucy grew up each step of the day improvising and procrastinating. By the time she reached the end of her tortured and horrible high school years she still had no idea what she planned to do with her life.
Though high school hadn't been all bad, because of graduating at a younger age. With her good grades she received some scholarships that required her to enter college with a major, but as soon as she found that perfect scholarship that gave her a semester to decide her major she was off into the big unknown world. After a year, Lucy scrambled to find something she enjoyed and eventually found herself in the art building of her college. This later down the road led to her one lovely as a teacher in Quebec, Canada, This eventually crashed and burned when she had developed some disagreements with Keaton Brooke the principal of her previous school. Eventually, she found herself running to New York. It wasn't even for the money anymore. She just wanted an adventure and maybe she got one.
In a tiny little fairy book story that is ringing in the back of her head, just like her father. She wished that New York will be where her dreams come true. A place where a simple art teacher can have some fun and not be judged. A place where the unpredictable could happen. Though maybe without realizing it Lucy has brought the unpredictable to New York.
and it hasn't stopped yet.
