Nervous was possibly the biggest understatement of the century when it came to how she was feeling right now. Why the hell was she so nervous? It wasn't like she didn't know how the guy felt about her - the two of them had made it rather clear over those many text messages that they had sent over the few weeks prior. Those few weeks that she was away were amazing for her, as well as frightening and worrying. It had been the first time that she had really been out of the city for more than a day or so with someone who wasn't her uncle or her cousins - she had been with one of her childhood best friends, the girl that she loved more than anything, with that best friend kind kind of love. Wasn't that the best kind of love there was? She had thought that until mister Crosby had come along and then BAM there was another kind of love that all but forced it's way into her life. Their meeting had been, well a little frightening considering the dark alley and the fact that she had been on her own and at that point he was a man that she didn't know - but there was a puppy and puppies were good. After that night she had thought that she'd never see him again, she had somewhat hoped, even though once she was over the initial fright of running into a strange man in a dark alley that she shouldn't have been in he had actually been a fairly nice guy. But then as if it was some kind of move by fate she found him again - via that childhood best friend we mentioned just before. They had grown rather close, and she had been there for him through all the hard times he had, and they were a lot and some of the hardest she could imagine. But he had gotten through them and she liked to believe that she had a big hand in that. And now they were here, with her standing outside his house mustering the will to raise her fist and knock on the door.
She had put a lot of effort into looking her best, though even that hadn't been able to hide the tiredness in her eyes - she had had little sleep over the last few weeks, apparently the tour life required one to survive without sleep. But she had survived. She had to so she could be where she was now, so she could knock on that damn door and so they could talk about what was going to happen between them - though she was fairly certain that she knew what was going to happen. She'd be all awkward and worry that she'd say something silly, but he wouldn't care because he liked that (or so she hoped?) and the two of them would laugh and joke about all the things that they were willing to joke about. Then she'd hug Cadence and tell the canine about how much she missed her and plant a kiss on her forehead. Animals were just so great weren't they? When she was getting ready she had tried on maybe five different outfits, ranging from dresses, to jeans and tee shirts. But she had gone with something simple, or well at least she found it simple - a pair of dark blue jeans with a light grey loose top and a dark red cardigan over the top. She had even fussed over her hair and she was never one to fuss over her hair that much, in the end she simply put it up in a loose pony tail, leaving part of the front out so that her forehead didn't feel oddly naked. She had even driven to his place slowly, thinking about what to say and how to act - maybe she should stop worrying about it so much, everyone knew that it was going to all be fine.
Even so, she stood at the door for a few more moments before taking a deep breath and raising her fist and letting it fall onto the door three times before taking one step back and waiting for the door to open.
