CORRIGAN A. SPAARKS
TWENTY-SEVEN - ACTRESS - CELEBRITY - DOUTZEN KROES
[attr="class","apphover"]
[attr="class","appinfo"]
YOU WALK INTO A BUILDING THAT STOOD TO BE ONE OF THE HIGHEST ALONG BEACH SIDE, THE ASSISTANT SUGGESTS THAT YOU SIT DOWN BECAUSE THE PERSON THAT YOU ARE SUPPOSE TO BE TALKING TO IS CURRENTLY IN AN UNEXPECTED MEETING. THE MEETING CAN TAKE UP TO SEVERAL MORE MINUTES.
Corrigan knew this is how they got to you. They made you wait and wait and wait, then you had to be perfect and perky when they finally called you in. Sometimes she thought she was too old for this. She could just quit, but she loved it all too much to do that. Despite the bad and stressful moments, there were better moments. She didn't have anything to do, but sit there, so she pulled her purse to her lap and started to organize it. She didn't want to sit there and play with her phone, so why not try and be productive.
A STRANGE BUZZ RINGS THROUGHOUT THE ROOM, THEN THE ASSISTANT WAVES YOU INTO THE OFFICE. YOU FIND YOURSELF IN AN OFFICE, YET YOU ARE ALONE IN ROOM FOR SEVERAL MORE MINUTES.
Her attention was caught with the strange buzz. She stood when the assistant started to wave her into another office. She sighed softly as she was alone again. She couldn't sit though, she was too bored. With nothing to do, no one to talk to, or anything, She couldn't stand to be bored. She wondered what this was about. Her publicist had told her to come here, apparently it was important. She was starting to question how important it was, keeping her waiting so long. Finally she got tired of standing there and took a seat in a chair that was positioned in front of a desk and another chair. She let out another sigh as she waiting, laying her head back on the chair, waiting.
FINALLY A MAN WALKS INTO THE ROOM WEARING THE TOP OF THE LINE SUIT, HE HANDS YOU A DRINK ON HIS WAY BY AND IT SEEMS TO BE YOUR FAVORITE, SUPPOSE THIS IS A PLOY TO GET YOU TO TRUST HIM. "NOW LET'S GET RIGHT TO THE POINT, CONSIDERING THE MEETING WENT ON LONGER THAN NORMAL." HE COMMENTS, WHILE SLIDING INTO HIS SEAT DIRECTLY BEHIND HIS DESK. EVERYTHING ABOUT HIS OFFICE SEEMS TO BE IN ORDER, ALMOST TOO PERFECT AND YOU COULD BE STARTING TO WONDER ABOUT WHAT EXACTLY IS THIS MAN HIDING.
Corrigan wasn't foolish enough to think that this man really knew her. Or that he really was nice enough to plan this far ahead. Everyone always wanted something, or that's what she had learned. She accepted the drink, just in case this was something for a magazine or something, she couldn't handle more bad press. She glanced around before looking at him. She didn't feel comfortable, but she held the drink, but kept it tightly in her hands, not wanting to drink it. She was trying to get a feel for the man, but that seemed difficult.
"AH YES, IT WOULD SEEM LIKE THIS MAY BE A WASTE OF TIME, BUT I'M GOING TO HAVE TO ASK FOR YOUR GENERAL INFORMATION." HE STATES, AS HE OPENS THE FILE THAT HE WAS PREVIOUSLY CARRYING INTO THE ROOM. YOU CAN ALSO NOTICE HOW MANY ACHIEVEMENTS THIS GENTLEMAN HAS BEEN ABLE TO MAKE OF HIS LIFE, MAYBE THERE'S HOPE THAT THIS ISN'T A CRACK TRYING TO STEAL YOUR IDENTITY.
Corrigan listened to the man, watching him look at the file. "My name is Corrigan Ava Sparks, Corri." She said first, knowing the name was important. "My birthday is December 19th. I'm Twenty-Seven years old." Check, birthday and age were probably important as well. "I was born in Delaware, but we moved to California when I was five." She added. She was the basic example of the child star, her parents had been approached when she was five, in new york city, they said she had star power. so they moved out to LA so they could exploit her, that's what everyone said. "I have two dogs, Lara and King and a cat, Nikki." She said with a small smile.
"IT WOULD SEEM LIKE EVERYTHING IS ALL HERE" HE STARTED TO SAY, WHILE LICKING HIS FINGER TO TURN THE PAGE OF THE FOLDER THAT HE WAS FACING. "AND THIS IS WHERE IT STARTS GETTING INTERESTING, HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF OR YOUR LOVE ONES, EVEN?" HE ASKED YOU WITHOUT HESITATION.
Her head nodded, but she was a little concerned they knew all of that. "Oh boy, I hope you don't have my social security number in there." She said teasing, but she was slightly concerned. She laughed a little, thinking about how to describe herself. "Wow, don't take it easy on me." She said sarcastically and playfully. "Let's see... I guess I would be fun. I'll try anything once or twice. I like to act, clearly.. because I'm an actress. I don't like to lie though, it make me uncomfortable... I like giving back, but I don't need the attention from it." She paused for a moment, thinking. "Friends and family are important to me... and I like being comfortable." She said with a small shrug. She wanted to keep it simple, she she didn't want to disappoint. "I'm afraid I'm kind of lame... you know.. the only part of my life people see is the drama or the movies.. photos, whatever.. but when I don't have to go out and show off, I'd much rather just sit at home or go to yoga or kick boxing... hang out with my pets. " She added with a shrug. "On sets, I can be serious... most of the time I won't be.. Being silly is fun.. unless we need to get serious, I would.. but it's fun to mess around and have fun with people... i can be serious though.." She said with a small smirk, she did like to have fun, but she knew when to be serious. "My family.. well.. I hope they would say nice things about me. I bought a house for them with my first big movie... I made sure they were comfortable, but you know people are never happy with what they have, they always want more." That wasn't nice, she knew that. But, she had been used too much in her life, especially from people who were supposed to love her. "I like to make people happy, but not so much that I'm a complete door mat." She added with a small smile.
YOU CAN'T TELL HOW INTENSELY HE IS LISTENING, ONLY TIME CAN TELL OR MAYBE NOT. "YOU ARE CERTAINLY AN INDIVIDUAL OF MANY SIDES." HE COMMENTS, AND HE GLANCED UP FROM THE FOLDER THAT HIS ATTENTION WAS ON DURING MOST OF THE TIME YOU WERE TALKING. "AND WHAT ABOUT YOUR PAST TO THE PRESENT, DON'T LEAVE OUT ANYTHING INTERESTING." HE STATED, WHILE RUBBING THE BACK OF HIS NECK.
“Oh my, oh my…the past huh?” She questioned with a small smirk. ”I don’t know where to start. She commented with a small laugh. ”Let’s see.. I was born in a small town in Delaware.. My parents, are Cassandra and Robert Sparks. My mom was a nurse and my father was a maintenance man.” Her slim shoulders shrugged. ”I guess life was good, I don’t remember that much of it. I remember being interested in acting, my mom put me in little pageants; and yes, she was a pageant mom, it was a regular toddler and tiaras. When I was five, we went to New York City for a Broadway show. It was fantastic. That’s when things got interesting.” She paused for a second. ”My parents were approached by a man, Marcus Kelley, he thought I have “star potential” he even had a movie he thought I would be perfect for.. he told my parents all we had to do was come to California for a few weeks.” She let that sink in. ”So, my parents packed us up a week later, got the house sold and moved us across the country.” Her fingers ran through her hair as she continued ”I was only five, so I thought it was the greatest thing in the world…The movie I was in was horrible.. I had about twenty-minutes screen time, I didn’t have line or anything, which was great for me.. my parents were thrilled for the money. That sounds horrible I know, people didn’t like it but who cares…” She said softly, thinking where she could go next. ”My mom was… overbearing.. she liked that I was in the spotlight, she enjoyed the fame too much. Dad was different, he didn’t like it.. but mom always wins.” She said with a small sad smile. ” They kept me in school, obviously.. but I did a movie or two a year after that, just small roles, until I was about fifteen.” She continued as she thought. ”When I was ten, my dad cheated on my mom with a lady, that lady got pregnant and nine months later I got a baby sister…” She said with a small laugh. ”I mean it sucked. My parents fought all the time, they pretended for a while, but dad wanted to be a part of the baby’s life, and mom couldn’t handle that.. so they divorced. A few years later it was, dad got the baby during the summers and that’s usually when I would be able to come around…” Her shoulders shrugged again. ”By the time I was fifteen, I was getting parts, bigger parts in movies… apparently, what they said was they can use pretty blondes anywhere… at that point, I was starting to model, and doing commercials..” she sighed a little. ”By seventeen I had gotten the leading female in a movie, if I remember right, it did pretty decent.. that’s when I started to get known by the media.. when I started to get a real fan base… I moved out when I was eighteen, I could afford it, my father had been the smart one and made a savings account for more than seventy-five percent of my earnings from all the movies I had done.. It was quite the chunk of change. I let mom keep her house, she was already remarried to some director.” She tried to remember if anything good had happened. ”The media tried to get dirt on me when I turned legal, but I really didn’t do much, I couldn’t.. I did movies, photo shoots, and commercials. I went to the premiers and award shows… I won a few, but besides that I liked to keep a low profile..” She knew it sounded boring, but she didn’t like people knowing her business. ”Things didn’t start getting good until I was twenty.. three… that’s when I met Charlie Parker, we did a movie together and you know how it goes, most love interests in movies or tv shows end up having something.. well we did, we didn’t start dating until a year after that, but really things were heating up before we even started to date.. everyone saw it apparently. At the premiers and interviews, we were always together…” she finally decided to take a drink of the water he had given her in the beginning. ”We were in a few more movies together because they said we had on screen chemistry.. it was great until about two years ago… that’s when things went south. I was positive I was going to marry this man, but we just fell out of love..and believe me, we tried things to get that spark back.” she said the last part with a small laugh and a wink. ”And then his publicist wanted us to stay together so we could do the break up “right” we lived together, but he stayed on one end of the house and I stayed on the other.. they leaked a few things to the press and made sure it was known that the Hollywood it couple was losing it…to cut a long story short.. we broke up finally, I moved out, moved into a condo… then everything just got.. bad… I needed a new scene… so I just moved to New York to get away.. Lucky for me I’ve been hired for a new movie.. I’ll be shooting here in New York.. so lucky me, I get to stick around.” she finally finished. Leaving out, she hadn’t told anyone that she was moving, she didn’t want people (mostly the media and paparazzi) that she had relocated.
"LOVE HAS BEEN IN THE AIR, AND WHAT ABOUT YOU? HOW IS YOUR LOVE LIFE?" HE ASKED WITH A LIGHT GRIM EXPRESSION, IT'S CLEAR THAT THIS MAN'S LOVE LIFE IS AS DEAD AS IT CAN GET.
She couldn't help but laugh quietly at his question, she knew he didn't look very amused. "Sorry..." She said still holding back laughs. "My love life is horrible." she said honestly. "I just got out of a five year relationship.. In the beginning, it was real. We loved each other.. but about a year and a half ago, we just fell out of love I guess...Anyways, his publicist basically used this in his favor, we were in a movie together... and well a few since we first met.. I guess they thought me being around was good for him." She let out a long sigh. They decided we would keep up appearances, until about five months ago he decided his career was good enough they didn't need me.. and well, he wanted to whore around." She said in an unashamed way. "So.. they started these rumors, you know how it goes if you read the tabloids... umm... that he was cheating on me, which wasn't exactly a lie, he really was...so these rumors kept escalating and I right have snapped. They wanted a good show.. well, I made it very noticable that I moved. I was tired of the lies." She added, thinking with a small smirk of the show she put on. "So, I moved out and moved here to New York City." She finished with a small shrug. "So, my love life is very dead until someone decent comes along." She answered his question finally.
"HOW WONDERFUL." HE COMMENTS, IT'S WITH A HINT OF SARCASM AND HE FINDS HIMSELF GLANCING AT HIS WATCH,, "IT SEEMS LIKE OUR TIME HAS RUN SHORT." HE STATES.
Corri could only smirk at his sarcasm, terrific. She wanted to comment, but she didn't, she just kept that pleasant little smile on her face and waited. "that's just terrible.. and we were learning so much about each other." she was able to let the sarcasm lose and did it happily.
"HAVE A LOVE DAY, GOOD SIR/M'AM." HE SAYS, WHILE YOU FIND YOURSELF RELEASED FROM THE GENTLEMAN'S ATTENTION AND YOU ARE ON YOUR WAY TO GO ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS.
"Likewise." She said as she stood up. This was done, she was done, and she could leave. She turned on her heels and walked quickly, yet calmly out of the office, past the assistant and out.
Corrigan knew this is how they got to you. They made you wait and wait and wait, then you had to be perfect and perky when they finally called you in. Sometimes she thought she was too old for this. She could just quit, but she loved it all too much to do that. Despite the bad and stressful moments, there were better moments.
