wow, are you my ...i completely lost track of time! well please sit sit, let me just move this stuff out of the way. okay, let's get started. tell me a little bit about yourself.
Dash wasn't one for these things, especially when people were late. He blamed his upbringing, he hated when people were late. He sat in one of the chair offered, his grey eyes intense as he looked to the interviewer. His lips quirked slightly for a split second as he watched the person across from him. "Dashiell Henry Rhys.." he said in a deep and serious voice. He wasn't going to tell this complete stranger of his nickname, this was business. "I am twenty-five years old." he paused. "I am a third year law student at Columbia University I will be graduating in May and will be taking the bar exam shortly after." he explained. "My birthday is June 10th." that was it, that's all they needed to know correct? He didn't want to give too much away.
that's a lot of information. so tell me, where are you from?
His grey eyes glanced around, he didn't feel like that was actually a lot of information. "I was born in Seattle, Washington. We moved to New York City when I was seven." he answered briefly.
ahh fascinating ! well i'm from here, born and raised, never left. so many people that i know and love here, just couldn't leave them ! what about you? anyone you care dearly for here?
He didn't like to discuss his family. He wasn't exactly on good terms with anyone, except his siblings. "There are my sisters and brother, Violet she's still still young..sixteen.. and my brother, Maxwell, he's going to be graduating from high school in May, he's eighteen.....and there is Jack and Ella....the twins, they're ten.." his lips quirked a little more, a little longer as he spoke of his siblings. he wouldn't let much go, but it was clear he could gush about them. "I have my dogs.. Jay and Harper, dobermans... they are my roommates and companions." he paused again, hating he was giving out too much. But, his dogs were important to him. He had plans to get another after he graduated, it wasn't like he couldn't afford it and he was a bit of an animal lover, not that many people understood that about it. "Oh I shouldn't forget my parents. Henry Rhys and Suzanne Rhys... " he kept it short on his parents, not trusting himself not to go into a tangent. He didn't have anyone else, friends, but he thought family was good enough to talk about.
quite a list. must mean you have a juicy past, let's hear a little bit about it.
a somewhat bitter smirk flashed for half a second on his lips. "juicy may not be the word I would use." now was his time to get down to the dirty details he knew, but he also knew he needed to be very careful about how he approached this. "I was born in Seattle, Washington. It was just me and my parents and the help... for the first seven years of my life. My father, he was never around, he worked here in NYC before we even moved, an attorney for the rich and famous, you know those that was to get off with a slap on the wrist for illegal activities... my mother, she was always into charity work and liked to be in the public eye... I was left alone a lot, with the help at least.. the maids were always fun and they thought I was cute." he said the last part with a shrug. "I was on my own without friends that weren't accompanied by nannies or caretakers for play dates until I was seven.. that's when mother put her foot down and told father we were either moving to NYC with him or he was going to quit his job and move home.... so we packed up, mother was six months pregnant with Maxwell..." he let out a breath thinking. "Once we were in NYC, things didn't change, we never saw father... When Maxwell came along, it was hectic for a while... he was fun once he started to move around more and stopped crying so much.... two years later mother was pregnant again with Violet, the precious girl, much to her relief.. I was nine when she came along and I was a terror.. I was proper, but I got into fights at school and out and out hated my father..." he paused. "by the time I was ten, it was already decided that I would be following in his footsteps, there was no choice that he needed an heir to the Rhys fortune.. and then his law practice would be Rhys and Rhys..." he rolled his eyes. "I already knew something was wrong, I had been groomed to be a lawyer since day one.." he shrugged. "anyways.. life went on.. it wasn't too exciting. I enjoyed my siblings, Maxwell was my shadow when I was around.. and Violet was a little angel....well... sometimes." he laughed a little. "by the time I was fifteen, mother and father.. adopted Jack and Ella... well.. mother did...father was not faithful to our family and had the twins with another woman, who decided that she didn't need that burden in her life.... but father didn't want a scandalous story like this to get out, so they told everyone that they were adopted, to complete our family." he shook his head slightly and rolled his eyes. "Mother.. she wanted a divorce after that, but she knew that wouldn't get a dime, so she stayed.. and hired a nanny to care for them, so she wouldn't have to acknowledge their existence... It was at that point, at fifteen, that I lost the last sliver of respect I had for my father.. he couldn't even stay faithful to his own wife." he thought of the fights they got into, even a few blow to blows with him. "After that mother made me get into sports, well, I enjoyed them but I didn't enjoy that it was mandated now....I finished high school in the top of my class, even though nothing was good enough for my parents, they always wanted me to be better.. I was accept to NYU, of course, that's where father went so they just loved the large donation that came with since I had a full ride and a legacy scholarship... I declared pre-law as my major.. and .. well I went crazy in my undergraduate, I did a lot of partying, a lot of stupid things.. no rules, no parents, and the freedom... the four years went by quickly, of course there are a few nights that I don't remember.. but I somehow managed to make it out a live and with a 3.7 GPA... still not good enough for the Rhys family.. I went straight into Columbia University.." he paused, shifting. "I'll be graduating this year in May, I'll be taking my Bar Exam soon after my graduation and then when I pass I'll be headed right into business with father, he's already gearing up to have the name changed.." he rolled his eyes. "I still party, but only on the weekends now.. and I work at the office with father and Kevin, he's an associate there..." his shoulders shrugged. "After all these years I'm still being groomed and primed as the Rhys heir.. ... I guess I should be grateful, at least I have a job waiting for me.. and because I've taken on this roll they aren't as harsh on my siblings as they were on me.." he said with another shrug.
you just get more and more interesting. is that a word that someone would describe you as? no? then what is something that people would say you are.
Dash needed to give this one thought. He wasn't raised to care what people thought of him. He was raised to be the best, the strive for the best, and if you weren't the best, then you weren't worth it. "People would probably say that I'm cocky... intense.... serious...a party animal... humorless.. privileged rich kid..." He said a few words that came to mind when people tried to insult him or compliment him. "In reality people see what they want to see... and they only see what I allow them to see." he said with a sigh. "People see me as cocky, because I'm not going to let people push me around or get the best of me.. confidence isn't something I let people take away from me.." he said sounding very sure of himself. "I can be serious and intense... it comes with the last name..humorless.... well.. if you knew my father and mother, you would understand why I am not the most cheerful and laid back kind of guy." he commented, thinking back to his childhood. "If you asked my father, disappointment and Dashiell go hand in hand.. he will love you if you aren't me.." he added with a sarcastic tone. "my mother would never say that out loud, but all she has to do is give a disapproving look... " he added, his tone serious. "my siblings on the other hand would probably say I'm serious and fun.. and.. that I look after them.. especially the twins, their father didn't want them.. their mother didn't want them... and their step-mother sure as hell doesn't want them.. to be honest they stay with me a lot, especially on holiday breaks..summer vacation.." his shoulders shrugged, his tone softening when he spoke about his siblings. "Violet stays with me also, because mother is unbearable at times.. her being the only girl, except Ella and I doubt mother gives a shit about her upbringing... but.. she's sixteen so it's time for all those debutante balls and having extremely high expectations... Maxwell... he doesn't have as much pressure, but he stays too... so.. I hope they think and know that I would do anything for them.." he said simply
do you agree with what people say about you?
his broad shoulders shrugged once again for this interview. "Like I said, I allow people to think what they want about me.." he repeated from the previous question. In truth, Dash was a confident young man, he could get a little cocky at times. He was serious and intense, at the right moments... he was in law school after all, he couldn't dick around all of the time. He only smiles around certain people, if you saw him around his parents, then most likely he would have a scowl on his face. If he was around his siblings, he would be having fun most likely, he found lately he liked to do things with them rather than going out and partying all night. He did like to party, but he had cut back a lot. He also had a softer side, most people never saw that side.. he would go out of his way to help a friend. He loved his animals as if they were his own children or family, they were a tad bit spoiled, especially Harper because she was his baby girl. He never introduces a girl to his family because he knows they will never meet the Rhys family expectations.
well i still think you have a certain something, not really sure what that is but i bet your boyfriend/girlfriend knows or are you still on the market?
His head shook. Of course he knew they would get to a question like this one. "I'm on the market... although I don't take myself off the market usually." He said simply. "The last time I dated, that was openly known... it wasn't serious at all, it was all a ruse.. Alyssa Clark, our mothers introduced us at a party... not who I want in my life, she was ready to be a housewife, of course she hated me because I don't want that.." he remembered meeting her, her straight black hair, bright green eyes, and her long legs appealed to him. however when she spoke, her voice was too sweet and she agreed with everything he said. he hated it. after talking to her, they discovered they mutually hated each other, but Alyssa had her eyes on a guy that was much older than her parents approved over.. so they set it all up. he acted like a complete gentleman for a few weeks, then when they could tell her parents were getting excited he cut the crap and started acting like a royal asshole. it only took a few days of him acting like that, taking her to a party and "ditching" her, and having the other dude rescue her, that her family approved of the match. his mother still hadn't forgiven him for acting that way. he would never tell them that he had met the guy that night at the bar they were at and they all have a great time. him "ditching" her had been all a lie, he had only left after they did. "I got out with women... but as far as my family knows I don't date seriously.. and I don't.. because my family has ridiculously high expectations for what my future spouse should act and look like...not that it matters, but why would I set myself up for all that drama in my life? It stays casual because I don't need anymore drama.." he added.
shit, time flies. my next appointment will be here in a few minutes. it was a pleasure to meet you!
he openly smirked at the cursing. okay, maybe the interviewer grew on him. "not a problem.. have a pleasant day." he said as he stood and walked out of the room.
