oh la latte

with a swipe she answered her phone, it was her older brother calling from Kentucky. she looked at her youngest brother, Damian. she gave him a small smile as she got him sat down at a small table in the back as she got their drinks. luckily the coffee shop was nearly empty. ”hey lucas…” she said softly as she grabbed the tray that her latte and a hot chocolate for Damian. ”june is at a friend’s for the night…and Vivi is studying at a friend’s house… Damian is with me..” she said quietly as she sat down at the table across from her brother. ”no I’m picking her up in an hour…” she answered his question, knowing he was worried about his siblings. neither of them liked zane. her head nodded even though he couldn’t see her. ”no, I’ll be there all night… hopefully they won’t be coming home tonight.. they have a date… so.. hopefully they go to his place.” she said with a roll of her eyes. she took a sip of her latte as she listened with a small smirk. ”well you figure out a way to take him down and I’ll have the bail money ready for you..” she said with a small grin. she gave her little brother a playful wink to Damian. ”hey I think Damian wants to talk to you..” she said as the six year old grabbed the phone from her. she listened as he talked about school, about some kid that he shared his crayons with that day and now they were best buddies, and then asked about his ponies and how they were. she knew he missed home. so did she. she was starting to hate this place just because she missed her horses so bad. she listened as her brother talked on and on for ten or more minutes before they hung up. she sighed quietly putting her phone back in her purse. she sat there sipping her drink as she listened to Damian, who was telling her the same stories that he had just told Lucas. she listened to him carefully though, smiling and commenting.
