PERSONALITY:
Jeremiah has two different sides to himself – a more serious and critical side for during work and a more loose and careless outside of work. When he is engaged at work, he means business. There is no dillydallying or screwing around. He’s in the zone and there’s no getting him out of it until he is clocked out. He’s pretty serious about his career, not only because he is a police officer, but also because being employed requires your undivided attention. Work comes first, play time later.
During work, he is attentive and observational. He pays close attention to his surroundings, clues, words that are spoken, and sounds. He’s quick on his feet and knows exactly how to handle a situation when its brought into action. He’s adaptable and patient with every person he comes in contact with and with every situation he is involved in. He requires to be both patient and adaptable so he can keep calm when dealing with a vexing citizens/criminals and he must be adaptable so he can quickly understand and assess the situation in the proper manner without blowing it out of context or distressing the citizen more than they already are. Jeremiah is protective and respectable towards everyone, whether involved in a certain kind of situation or not. He makes sure every person involved is safe and comfortable before he moved on. He is also more forceful and controlling inside of work and this is also required. It’s necessary to show your authority over the citizens and be more forceful when needed; otherwise they will disrespect and walk all over you. Having strong communication is a trait that Miah had developed quite well over time and is an incredibly important trait. Without strong communication skills, other officers or citizens can get confused on what to do and potentially put themselves in more danger.
Outside of work, Jeremiah is more loose and carefree. He has his moments when he tightens up and gets moody, but that’s usually related to stress. He’s pretty laid-back and like to just hang out with his friends. He’s super nice, generous, and caring towards all the people he meets and really never has a problem with anybody. He’s easy to get along with. Miah has a good sense of humor and is easily amused, so you don’t have to try very hard to get his attention or to make him laugh. He is extremely flirty and will flirty with just about anybody and everybody - seriously or jokingly. Sarcasm is one of his favorite languages that he speaks fluently, and he isn’t afraid to express it. In some cases, he can come off a little too strong with his cocky, bigheaded trait, but don’t worry too much about that – sometimes he can get pretty egotistical and thing pretty damn highly of himself when he’s still in “copper” mode. Jeremiah is also pretty blunt. He’ll set you straight if something you said or did was pretty fucked up and he isn’t afraid to stick up for himself or his friends/family. Loyalty runs through his veins, so he’ll back any of his closest friends up, even if they are in the wrong. In very rare times, Jeremiah can be very overemotional, sensitive, and just down right moody, but this can be traced back to stress, lack of working out, or eating too much junk food. He’s almost obsessed with constantly working out and keeping his shape, he says that it helps relax him and keep his head clear, while also being good for his physical health. Jeremiah is also incredibly smart in all subjects and easily understands puzzles, challenges, etc. but dumbs it down due to constantly being praised as a child for being smart- he really hated getting attention and appraisal for that, which is why he does this.
HISTORY:
Jeremiah was born on July 17th in 1986 to the newly wedded Haley and Daniel Alvarez. This little bundle of joy grew up in a nice little suburban neighborhood in California for several years of his life. It was a nice neighborhood for the small family. When Jeremiah was two, his mother gave birth to their second son, Brett. Instantaneously, these two became best of friends. They did everything together, and literally just about everything. Little Brett wanted to be exactly like his big brother. It was pretty darn cute. These two always spent their time together playing games, drawing, playing hide-and-seek and all sort of other things. They were inseparable. By the age of six, Miah was well ahead of a lot of the kids in his class and knew exactly what he wanted to be when he grew up – a police officer. He was reading higher level books and doing more complicated math problems than any of the other kids. He was an extraordinary student and he had such a bright future ahead of him; everyone was impressed by how intelligent this six year old was and they took advantage of that. During this time, Jeremiah’s mother gave birth to another kid – a son, Joshua. While Miah was exited that was had another little brother, Brett wasn’t exactly too happy that his big brother was paying attention to the new kid in the house. Miah tried to give each of them an equal amount of attention, but it was extremely difficult for a six year old with the attention span of a squirrel to do so; but nonetheless, he tried.
When Jeremiah was ten, things weren’t going so well for the family. His mother had gotten laid off from her job, so the family didn’t have a lot of money for the four – soon to be five – piece family. His father had gotten an offer to become Lieutenant at the fire department in New York. Of course, with how things were going out in California, it was necessary; so his father jumped on the opportunity and the family packed up and moved out to New York. Upon moving, the family quickly enrolled the two kiddos in new schools, unpack the house, find a doctor to deliver the baby, and get Marcus into his new job. It was a rough and stressful couple of months, but they all survived and created a routine to help them out. After Garret, the fourth son, was born and Haley was finally able to return to working, she searched for a job, quickly getting hired on. Things went smoothly for everyone after some time – some more than others. Jeremiah adjusted well; he made a lot of friends at school and was still one of the best students. While Jeremiah enjoyed being as intelligent as he was, it got annoying after sometime. He hated constantly getting praised for being smart and acted like it was such a big deal. So what, he used his brain in different ways and applied himself more than others? He was tired of it and couldn’t wait for it to be over with.
When Jeremiah turned sixteen, things changed. Although he had still been constantly praised for his high intelligence and put into AP classes, he had some changed to his life. He was now a big brother of four siblings – three brothers and one sister (was now three years old) – he tried taking on the best bring brother role he could and tried being a good influence. He started investing himself in after school activities, mainly so he could get away from the constant appraisal from the parents, but somehow it brought on even more. He tried out for football and after training and practices he was brought on as the quarterback... He took on Forensic Science to also help better his career that he was very interested in. By this time, Jeremiah was positive that he wanted to become a police officer and he was going to do whatever it took to prepare himself. He started taking certain classes that would benefit his future career and help ease his path slightly – well, as much as possible. He started working on his physical and mental exercises, while also juggling all the other activities he had going on at school. I mean, there were just his normal classes as well as the extra classes he took on, but then he had football games and practice, he had physical training, he took on karate, and he helped take care of his siblings when he was needed. So, needless to say, he had quite the weight on his shoulders. He was beyond stressed with everything, but he knew it was all worth it in the end.
It all paid off for Jeremiah soon enough. It was long, and tiring, and physically enduring, but he was getting there. All of his hard work hadn’t gone unnoticed and the weight on his shoulder quickly began to subside slightly. He graduated school when he was seventeen and could move on and focus on his life from there. He got a simple local job to have some sort of income and he moved out into his own apartment. He continued his constant physical training and karate, and the New York police academy accepted him in when he was twenty-one. His parents and friends were so proud of him, but most importantly, he was proud of himself. He had worked hard towards his goal and he was one step closer to accomplishing it... But he wasn’t done yet. He had to endure the next 20 weeks of training to become an officer. It was challenging, but Jeremiah enjoyed every bit of it. It was painful and miserable as hell, but that didn’t stop him for reaching his dreams. It was at his fingertips! He could almost taste it!
Miah had showed incredible performances in all situations when he was recruited at the New York Police Department. Uh-huh, that’s right. Alvarez moved up the line from Trainee to police officer real quick. It didn’t take long for the crew Captain to see how determined and such a good worker he was. The crew was impressed with the new kid and was glad to have him on the team with them. Over time, Jeremiah became a crucial part of the system and he was there at almost every situation that got called in. He was pretty popular around the station with just about everyone.
Being on the team for seven years was grand. He loved it and had some good times. He met a lot of cool officers on the line and made a lot of memories. He got called onto some pretty interesting state of affairs that he would remember forever Just to name a few; there were fights, public disturbances, robberies, shoot outs, car chases, suspicious packages – hey, you name it and he’s got a story for it. It was a pretty exciting seven years. Stressful and emotional, but that was all part of the whole thing. All these people were just his extended family. He cared about all of them and would literally jump in front of a bullet to save them – that’s happened before; thank god for the bulletproof vest. He belonged here. This was exactly what Jeremiah was supposed to be doing and he was happier than he could ever imagine. He had an amazing job, an amazing family, and some pretty freaking awesome friends. What more could he ask for?
