LILY BRIAR GRAHAM
[attr="class","apphoverbox"]
There was a new girl in town. She had it all figured out. (Had it all figured out) And I'll state something rash. She had the most amazing....smile. I bet you didn't expect that. But she made me change my ways. (She made me change my ways) With eyes like sunsets baby. And legs that went on for days. I'm fallin' in love But it's fallin' apart. I need to find my way back to the start. When we were in love. Oh things were better than they are. Let me back into. Into your arms. Into your arms. She made her way to the bar. I tried to talk to her. But she seemed so far. (She seems so far) Outta my league. I had to find a way to get her next to me. I'm fallin' in love But it's fallin' apart. I need to find my way back to the start. When we were in love. Oh things were better than they are. Let me back into. Into your arms. Into your arms. Oh she's slippin' away. I always freeze when I'm thinking of words to say. All the things she does. Make it seem like love. If it's just a game. (Just a game) Then I like the way that we play. I'm fallin' in love But it's fallin' apart. I need to find my way back to the start. I'm fallin' in love But it's fallin' apart. I need to find my way back to the start. When we were in love. Oh things were better than they are. Let me back into. Into your arms. Into your arms. Into your arms. Into your arms.
Lily Briar Graham. Twenty-Two. Scotland Born. Painter. Quiet. Youngest Child of Eight and Third Daughter. Reserved.
Lily is the girl would rather express her feelings through painting and drawing. She's quiet and shy, she's reserved and almost laid back. She's unsure of how to look at the world like most people do. She sees it in a different light, with a different perspective based on how she grew up. She was the last one born in her family, hailing from Glasgow, Scotland. Being the eight child meant nothing, it just meant family dinners were important, with everyone gathered around the table to eat and share their stories of the day. But even their stories were different as their personalities. Lily was quiet against any crowd, but spoke freely and more often with her family. The familiarity, the loyalness of being around those who cared for her, felt like nothing could ever end for her. She had her five brothers, and two sisters to look up. There were the twins, Kester and Lachlan, Gregor, Lennon, Monroe, and then there were her sisters, Logan and Lindsay. Their age differences meant nothing to her, it just meant she had big brothers to protect her given anything awful happened. With the twins being 13 years her senior.
Growing up wasn't too extreme except for the move from Glasgow to New York. It was different. She was only nine years old and even then she didn't want to leave her home, the place she felt like she could never leave. She never let go of her brother's arm. Lachlan carried her the whole way through the airport with their suitcases in tow and all ten of them on their way to their new lives in the states. Moving was probably the best option they had even though they used their entire savings and selling their home and furnishings, minus the few things they were able to carry and ship out. Though after moving it was just different, things were different. Everything they held valuable in Glasgow was different in New York. People were mean, they judged a lot more and Lily couldn't understand why they made fun of her accent. It was like they weren't use to those who weren't native. Even though they shared common things, like every person she met had an accent, but it was harder to understand them than it was for them to understand her. Then when it came to money, it was either you had it or you didn't and everyone could tell if you didn't have anything. Lily was one of those people, the ones where people mistreated you, acted like you were dirt. Lily didn't care for money, it corrupted people and it changed them. It didn't make her happy, other things did. So when it came around for them to start judging, pushing her around, she ignored them. Or at least the best she could.
High school was the worse four years of her life. Her mother left. Disappeared without a trace and left her father heartbroken. Lydia Graham is a name no one will ever say again. But Wilbur Graham is a name everyone will remember as being the saddest person in the world. The one who eventually died of heart break. He did her senior year of high school. She hadn't even turned eighteen yet and her father drank himself to death in the sense of hiding his feelings, his heartbreak. Everyone sad the pain and sadness in his dull eyes. When Lydia left, everyone's world was turned upside down. She traveled a lot so it wasn't like a complete surprised for her to be gone for so long, but this time. It was different. She was gone for far too long, and there wasn't even word of when or where she was at or if she was coming back. Breaking news wasn't easy, but they took it in stride. They were a strong bunch. All of the Graham kids were. Lily ended up in the care of her brother, Lennon for the sake of he still lived at home for the most part. He was close to her and made sure she was alright. He was also the one who was there for her through her own tough times. They held a memorial service for Wilbur and dumped his ashes in the flower bed over the lilies.
She finished high school, but not before she had her own hardships. She had a boyfriend who was a little off, he was different than the rest of the crowd that she 'supposedly' hung around. He was one of those rich boys, who catered to anyone's needs given the chance. But he was kind to her, he didn't know how to handle the quietness with her, but he eventually understood her. Her shyness, her reserved aspect and her artistic ability. He helped opened her up, but she eventually pulled away. There were things in her life that just seemed like it was too much to handle. She never told anyone or even had the chance to tell anyone about her own problems because her father died at the time. Her boyfriend, who now at this point shall not be named, wasn't abusive to anyone's knowledge. He wasn't even dangerous, at least not to those he trusted, but to Lily he was something else. After her broken down her walls and opened her eyes to how love felt, she thought things would change. Thought things were going to go smoothly. She was going to finish high school and be able to stay with him. But things changed. Everything changed.
With her fathering passing, and news that she was pregnant. Things just became so much more different for her. She didn't know what to do, or even how to handle the life of being a mother so young. Her boyfriend thought he could help, he had money to help take care of all three of them. But Lily didn't want any of that, she was determined to do it on her own, to make a living the right way and not using other people's cash. Though as stated before, things changed. Her world came crashing down. She pushed people away, and went back to her reclusive self, back to keeping to herself and staying out of the limelight that most people enjoyed. Lily lost the baby, and pushed her boyfriend away. He became almost abusive at this point, something was wrong with him. A mental problem from what she was told. Her brothers, sheltered her after she graduated, made sure she was safe from him. She never really saw him again after that, he was sent somewhere or he just realized that she wasn't worth it anymore. Lily didn't care what the reason was, she just wished that chapter of her life could have been rewritten. Rewritten to be of happier times, of times she would have rather remember instead of the gloomy aspects of graduating high school seven months pregnant, and having a stillborn daughter. With her father passing of a broken heart and her mother disappearing and leaving her eight children without any parents.
Now after a few years of depending on her siblings for the comfort of being around them and helping her build up her confidence again, she enrolled in the local college. Freshman at twenty-two years old. Majoring in art, more specifically, painting and drawing. Her passion over anything else. Keeping to herself and focusing on only the things that matter most in her life. Not caring if she falls in love again, or if she ever will. She find her happiness again, she's sure of it, but for now, she just wants to focus on what makes her happy now.
