DIANA-WYNTERS LANCE DATE 27/1/15 TIME 9PM
TAGS; MISSING, CAT, OPEN, HYDE, GINGER, TABBY
| IT'S LATE AND THE PINKETTE HAS BEEN OUT MOST OF THE EVENING, IN THE COLD DAMP STREETS, IT ONLY HAS RAINED A FEW HOURS AGO. SHE IS SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING THAT IS CONSTANT IN HER LIFE, HER GINGER HAIRED FELINE. HIS NAME IS HYDE, HE IS ONLY TWO YEARS OLD, YET HE CAN HAVE A VIOLENT STEAK TO HIM, JUST AS HIS NAME DESCRIBES, HE HATES, STRANGERS, UNLESS THEY FEED HIM. HE TENDS TO BE THE MOST EXPENSIVE THING THAT HIS OWNER OWNS. AFTER ALL HE EATS HER OUT OF HOUSE AND HOMES. IF HYDE DOESN'T GET FED HISSING AND CLAWS WILL ACURE VERY QUICKLY. UNLESS YOUR HIS LOVING OWNER, WHICH HE CAN'T DO NO WRONG TO.
DIANA HAS SPENT MOST OF HER DAY DOWN AT THE COLLEGE DOING HER CHOSEN COURSE, ART & DESIGN NORMALLY SHE DOESN'T HAVE TO GO HOME TO FEED HER FOUR LEGGED FRIEND, SINCE HE HAS A CAT FLAP. MAKING BOTH OF THEIR LIVES EASIER.
AT THIS TIME ON A NORMAL DAY DIANA WOULD BE SITTING IN FRONT OF HER HEATER, FLICKING THROUGH A VOGUE MAGAZINE, WITH HYDE ON HER LAP PURRING FROM A GOOD SCRATCH BEHIND HIS EAR. YET IT WAS RARE FOR HYDE TO BE OUT THIS LATE SPECIALLY IN THE RAIN. IT WORRIES DIANA TO THE POINT OF SCREAMING FOR HIM.
THE PINKETTE'S FEET ARE COVERED IN A WHITE CHUNKY HEELED SHOES THEY CLICK AGAINST THE COBBLED PAVEMENT, WITH EACH STRIDE, BOOT CUT FLARED JEANS AND A CREAM SHORT SLEEVED JUMPER AND THROWN OVER THE TOP IS A BLACK FRINGE WAIST COAT, A STRANGE FASHION SENCE YET WEIRDLY ENOUGH IT SUITS HER WELL, ALONG WITH HER, UNMISSABLE PINK HAIR. YET SHE WAS SLIGHTLY DAMP FROM THE RAIN TOO.
"Hy- Hyd - Hyde! Come here boy."
SHE CALLS OUT AS IF HER CAT WAS A DOG, BUT SHE KNEW THAT HE WOULD RUN TO HER IF HE COULD HEAR HER AT LEAST. YET DRUNKEN AND SOBER PEOPLE DID GIVE HER WERID LOOKS AS SHE PASSES. |

The clouds were still letting out a pathetic drizzle long after the sun had died. Eli walked briskly, several jackets wrapping his small frame. He had never been one to enjoy winter, let alone cold weather. Running noses, trembling bodies, the constant numbness - it was all too much of a hassle. And sure, there were cozy holiday things like hot coca, building snowmen, but Eli would never fully enjoy those activities. So, despite his intense bundling-up, he still shivered as he stepped out of the neon glow of the McDonald's he was in, and into the wet January night. He glared at his breath as it fell from his mouth, a miniature cloud to mimic the starless sky. It evaporated into the night, along with the warmth of his natural body temperature. He glanced at his watch, doing a double take when he realized how late it was. He had stayed late at the school before going to dinner, as there were many papers he had to grade - along with filling out lesson plans for the next few weeks. However, he thought it was only seven or eight. But the tiny ticking hand on his wrist pointed to nine. He took a deep breath, disappointed that he had decided not to drive to the fast food chain. Now he had to walk the few feet down the block, and Eli could not trust New York at night. The city was notorious for its crime, and with the damp chill, Eli could only embrace himself for an uncomfortable night. Senses rising, but trying to keep the panic quelled. But the shadows turned into vile shapes in the corner of his eye, and his heart rate definitely started to increase. As he rounded a corner, he nearly screamed when a little orange shape trotted in front of him. But his throat remained closed, and the only thing that came out of it was a little puff of air. Clutching his chest, he smiled down at the cat, relief coursing through him. It looked very clean and well kept, obviously it belonged to someone. 'Hey there,' he practically whispered, as the feline looked him over with judgement, 'Enjoy giving people a fright, do you?' Eli laughed at himself, but reached a trembling hand out to allow the cat to sniff it over. Not being able to read feline body language, he was unprepared for the claws and spitting of annoyance. Jumping back, holding the victimized hand close to his chest, he looked down at the cat with mild shock. It looked him over a final time, before turning its nose upward and trotting off, tail held high and smug. Blinking in confusion, Eli examined his hand. Not a lot of skin was broken, but he would still clean the scrape efficiently when he got home. He had no idea where those claws had been, and he could almost feel the germs clinging to the skin. Walking away, towards the direction of his parked car, his mind drifted over to thoughts of cats and how he was alright with the fact that he did not own one. They were adorable, and sometimes very pretty - but they were better from a distance. He felt the same about dogs, and most animals. Rabbits, however, were a different story all together. Eli smiled to himself, thinking about all the various types of bunns he could be snugging - a method to distract himself from the winter wetness pressing in around him. Suddenly, the clanking sound of heels caught his attention. He paused, wondering if he should keep moving along. Then, a voice followed along. 'Hy- Hyd - Hyde! Come here boy.' Eli glanced around, trying to pinpoint the owner of the voice. A few pedestrian's walked by, looking towards the sound as well, but more or less unbothered by it. Bright pink was suddenly visible in the night, and the head it belonged to sounded the call again. Eli bit his lip, wondering if he should overcome is naturally timid nature and approach the person - it could be a dog they were looking for, right? Shouldn't bother them...but as he moved to walk away, his conscience began to nag at him. Mentally cursing himself, but unable to resist interacting with this eye-catching stranger, he approached her. Trying to appear friendly and not at all threatening, he nervously smiled at her, 'H-hello, my name is Eli, a-and I couldn't help but wonder i-if you were by any chance looking f-for an orange tabby?' He hoped his stutter wouldn't be too annoying - he always did hate it. But with his nervousness and with the cold air, it was nearly impossible to avoid it. words: 783 tag: di with diana-wynters lance notes: hope you don't mind if i pop right in here? eli needed a thread. :3

| Curse that Damn cat!Was one of the thoughts that Diana has as she continues to call for her cat, ignoring the strange looks she was receiving too, it was mainly due to her sense of style really or was it the fact she is shouting out a fictional characters name? It could be both of them. Heels splashing against the puddles, Diana wasn’t really dressed for the weather at all, regardless it didn’t stop her mission. To find her cat. She asked a few people who she passed, some of them looked at her weirdly, mostly they ignored huh. Could he be back at the flat? That was one thing that Diana mind came to while walking. Her head tilts down and her shoulders sag in defeat, it hung over her like a heavy cloud. That was until someone approached her. 'H-hello, my name is Eli, a-and I couldn't help but wonder i-if you were by any chance looking f-for an orange tabby?'Diana’s head snapped up to look at this ‘Eli’, perhaps a little too quickly resulting some of her fringe to fall in her eyes, resulting her to shake her head slightly to get the pink strands out of her eyes to take in the person in front of her. He introduced himself, first. Since when do people introduce themselves straight away to a stranger? Yet Diana’s mind didn’t linger on that soon as she hears the next stuttered words greeted her ears with joy, a large smile spreads across her lips, brightening up her pale features, even though she looks damp, she couldn’t be happier hearing those words leave Eli’s lips. She quickly took a step forward forgetting the nervousness that was in Eli’s voice her hands grasped the left arm of his jacket, it was a bold move, her grasp was one to hold people against their will, it was more like a shocked grasp, easy for anyone to get out of, yet easy to grab a persons attention too. “You’ve seen him?” It’s a silly question really resulting the pinkeye to shake her head. “I could kiss you!”She expressed her joy, after all he detailed Hyde to her without him, even realising that he was looking for her cat. Yet dark eyebrows drew together on Diana’s face in concern. Is he starving?! Is he cold?! She wasn’t think about Eli, No she was thinking about Hyde. “Where? When?”She stares at the male, realising his contrast in hair and eyes are completely the opposite to her bright contrast too. She is going to refuse him to leave with out telling her the details of what he knew about her beloved ginger feline. |
