| A couple of Jeremiah's friends had invited him out to the bar for the Karaoke night in which he agreed to join. He had been invited out a few times in the past where he declined because he was already exhausted or he had work the next day, or whatever excuse he decided to use. Not tonight, though. He thought that joining his friends tonight sounded like a good time. Not that Miah actually did any karaoking, but it involved friends, drinking, and hopefully some good tunes; besides, it was also the start of his weekend, so he didn't have to turn in early for the night for work in the morning. It just sounded like a night of fun all around, and how could you refuse to join in on any of that?
Jeremiah enjoyed getting out of the house whenever he could. He hated being cooped up for days! It drove him crazy when he didn't have any plans with his friends to go hang out. Of course, he had his days where all he wanted to do was lay around by himself and be lazy, but those never really happened much. He's an extremely social person likes being around other and it was kind of rough for him when he didn't have plans for the night. He's definitely an extrovert, so if he goes some time without having some sort of face-to-face communication, it drives him crazy and puts him into a bit of a funky mood.
Once he had gotten off from work and got to his place, he quickly got ready and ate something before heading off to the bar for the night of fun. When he first arrived, there weren't really many people there. It was him, a few of his friends, and some random people here and there, but that was it. As time had went on, more and more people arrive and pretty much packed the place. Jeremiah wasn't necessarily a fan of crowded places or even groups of people in a small, enclosed space. This was definitely his least favorite place to be while it was busy. He was uncomfortable with it, but he managed by drinking a decent amount of alcohol.
After a certain point, Jeremiah began scoping out the bar for new people to talk to and meet. There were plenty of people that caught his eye, but he didn't exactly want to talk to just anybody. He wasn't to make sure he was talking to someone who would keep him interested. After inspecting the bar for some time, he finally spotted someone who caught his attention - a brunette female who looked to be in her early twenties sitting near the bar, by herself. He sauntered his way to her and stood close to her, offering her a kind smile. "Hey," he greeted her, leaning against the bar. "Can I buy you a drink?" he inquired, hoping he didn't come off as one of those typical creeps to approach a girl in a bar.

COLETTE FRANKLIN | | Habits died hard. That was one thing Lette was starting to figure out, and the hard way of course. Her life wasn't the most ideal for anyone really but it was hers. Her mother ruined what innocent childhood and adulthood she could have ever had. Now she was who she was. No, she would never forgive her mother for what she did. She would never speak to her mother again, that she promised. However, not all bad things came out of it. Lette met some amazing women and they taught her everything they knew. Once her mother 'sold' her away to 'the man', she would be trained the ways of the street walkers. She was thrown into the deep end of being an escort. Being who she was, she learned quickly and soon was one of the most sought after women they had. Of course most the men she 'escorted' were very rich and had deep pockets. It didn't take long for her to catch on to what men wanted, they were easy to figure out. It was how to bring them back for more she needed to learn.
And boy did she learn it. However, as she got older, it just wasn't what she wanted anymore. She didn't want to be property of anyone, she wanted to be her own person. So, after paying off her mothers debt, she was free to go. But now, she was scared. This was the only life she had really known. How was she suppose to go on with life? Lette just knew she needed to get out of Boston. She needed a new start. She wasn't sure why she decided to go to New York, but now she finds herself there.
Lette had been saving for many years and had a nice cushion when she got to New York. She got herself a small but nice apartment above one the many bars. It made things much easier when she felt like bringing home 'company' from the bar. Hey, she said she would try. She was trying, only not succeeding. Lette loved being out on her own and doing her own thing, no rules to follow or have to check up with her 'boss' every night. She was officially a free woman.
Tonight Lette wanted to have a drink, maybe make a friend or two. She didn't have many of those laying around. People didn't really understand her and her ways but she didn't really care anymore. She was who she was. So, Lette put on a nice cocktail dress and some of her jewelery and did her hair. Of course she always looked amazing but tonight she added some sexiness. It was something she just couldn't help. It was kareoke night down at the bar and she would rather be in the bar then above it on those nights, at least until later of course.
Finding her way into the bar, things were pretty slow. It usually was until later in the evening anyway so it didn't bother her. She gave many men a smile as she passed them, many eyes following her as she made her way to the bar. She set her handbag down on the bar and slid onto one of the stools. She wasn't exactly sure what she wanted to drink yet so she just sat there, turning out into the now growing crowd. Her beautiful blue eyes scoping out all the potential....good times she could find.
Hey, can I buy you a drink?" It was a phrase she had heard many times before, she grinned playfully and turned to look at the man, who was very handsome. "That would be wonderful, thank you." She smiled, her eyes twinkling. She moved her bad over he could have a clear spot at the bar, signaling she wanted him to join her.

| It wasn't necessarily unusual for Miah to walk up to random girls in the bar and ask if he could buy them a drink. Yeah, he'd done it a few times before, but it wasn't an every time type of deal. It was mainly just a way for him to approach a woman he found attractive since he never really knew a proper way to approach them without coming off too strong or seeming really weird. Sure, Jeremiah had to practically beat off girls with a stick most of his life because of how they flaunted over him, but when it actually came right down to it, he certainly was no Romeo. He didn't exactly know how to 'woo' the ladies outside the bedroom. Aside from his undoubtedly good looks, he felt like he never really had that much charm, but a lot of people said otherwise. Whenever girls showed interest in him, it was just because of his looks. While that boosted some of Jeremiah's ego, it also kind of hurt deep down inside - though, he hid real well how much it actually did hurt.
Because of girls' only showing their interest in him because of his looks, he kind of tried giving up on relationships and trying to get to know girls. At this point in his life he was kind of tired of putting forth effort into relationships because of the past shallow people. Of course, he wasn't ruined on the subject considering he did have a few really good relationships in the past, but it was frustrating. There was no doubt that Jeremiah loved being in relationships; he loved the affections, the physical intimacy, the romance, making his significant other laugh and be happy. He missed having all of that. He missed feeling that was towards someone else, but he wasn't just going to give to anybody - certainly not somebody who only relied on physical appearance for a relationship. So, while he missed that and kind of craved all of it, he ignored it and kind of just restricted himself to just sex. It wasn't as satisfying, but it helped in some way.
After approaching this girl, he studied her face carefully. He didn't recognize her. He hadn't seen her around much - or at all, really. No at the bar or around town, to be honest. Not that Jeremiah was at the bar constantly, but he did show up a couple nights out of the month and he had never seen her face; and if he had, he would've for sure remembered it drunk or not. Miah got to know a lot of the citizens around town between how much of a social life he had but also because of his job. He had a lot of frequent people he had to deal with and you get to know them after you see them quite a bit. But this girl was definitely not somebody he had seen around the town nor had to deal with while on duty.
He flashed her a bright smile after she spoke and he nodded at her. "Alright, and what is the lady's choice of beverage?" he questioned, quickly sliding into the seat next to her after she had cleared it for him. He took it as a good sign so far the she wanted him to join her and he was hoping this whole conversation was going to go well between them. "The name's Jeremiah, but you can call me Miah if you'd prefer," he mentioned, letting a smirk spread across his face as he held his hand out toward her; waiting for her to announce her own name.

COLETTE FRANKLIN | | Lette was so used to men coming up to her and talking. It wasn't new thing for her lets just say that. Actually, when men looked at her it almost made her feel more alive. Okay, so she was kind of a attention whore. She had gotten very used to men looking at her so being in a crowd like this didn't really phase her much. Lette was enjoying it that she even gave a few winks and flirty smiles at some of the better looking men in the bar. She giggled and turned in towards the bar again, looking for the bartender. But with so many people filling in, she knew he was busy so she was content on waiting.
But with the guy asking if he could buy her a drink, she was all for it. She looked him over and was very pleased with what she saw. He was handsome and had a great smile. Lette liked when men had great smiles. It was one thing she really liked about a man. Of course there were other attributes and things about a man that she liked but that was for a totally different conversation. She knew he probably didn't know her which was okay for now. She had just got into town a few days ago and had yet to really make her presence known to men. Yes, men. She could have given two shits about the women in this town, she wasn't here to please them.
"Alright, and what is the lady's choice of beverage?" He asked as he slid in to the seat next to her. Lette thought about it for a moment, wondering what she wanted as she really hadn't decided yet because she thought she had more time. She thought about it for a second, "A white russian sounds great actually." She gave him a smile. There was a silence for just a moment between them and then he spoke again. "The name's Jeremiah, but you can call me Miah if you'd prefer." Lette saw the smirk and couldn't help but give him one back. He was adorable. "My names Colette but I prefer Lette." She was so used to everyone calling her the shortened version of her name that it just sort of stuck. No one really called her Colette, except when she was with her mom. That was probably why she didn't like it so much. "You having a good time Miah?" She said, giving him a flirty smile.

| Miah chuckled at the girl's choice of beverage and nodded. Not my people he knew drank White Russian. It was acquired taste, and definitely not one of his favorite. He felt like the tastes didn't mix too well. When the bartender came around, he order her drink as well a jack & coke for himself and they now just waited to actually receive the drink. "Well, pleasure to meet you, Lette," he replied, putting more of an emphasis on her name as he let another smirk come across his face. There was no doubt that this girl was attractive and Jeremiah was definitely attracted to her. Could you blame him, though? She looked totally sweet and adorable, but she was also very sexy. He was curious as to how she was in comparison to his assumptions of her. Would she be as sweet and innocent as she seemed, or would she be completely different? He didn't have a clue but he was definitely excited to find out.
When the bartender brought the drinks back, Miah handed lette her drink before he took a quick sip of his own. H thought about her question for a bit, but shrugged and kind of nodded in response, Bar nights were always fun for him, so of course he was having fun, but it wasn't anything too exciting for him. "Yeah, I suppose so. More entertained with the acts on stage than anything, but I can't really complain." He was just happy to be off from work right now. He really couldn't complain about that. Who could? You could do whatever on days off and that's exactly what Jeremiah planned on doing - whatever came up. "How about yourself, sweetheart?" he questioned, looking over at her and smiling again.
Jeremiah was extremely friendly, and he liked getting to know people no matter who it was. Could be a kid, adult, male, female; whatever. He just liked speaking and getting to know people, especially the new people to town. Miah really enjoyed showing the tourists around and telling them all of the things to do around the town. Some of Jeremiah's closest friends started off as just some random tourist before they really got to know each other. He's really open and curious about others and is pretty determined to get people to open up to him. He had no doubt in his mind that he would get Colette to quickly open up to him.

COLETTE FRANKLIN | |
Lette knew that not many people drank white russians. She liked them because they were sweet and you could never really tell you were drinking a lot of alcohol. They were a nice drink to have when you had company. She gave the man a smile as he ordered their drinks. His was a little more common then her own. "Well, pleasure to meet you, Lette." She grinned at the emphasis on her name. He was so sexy and the way he said her name was just as. The smirk on his face even added to that. She couldn't help be attracted to this man. It wasn't often she was actually attracted to a man that she spoke to but this one was different. He seemed almost innocent in a way. Of course he had no idea what or who she was but that made it even more exciting. Maybe he would find out later. Of cousre, she wasn't exactly what she was back in Boston as now she was on her own. But she wanted to see more of Miah. Not just his body but more....
She took her drink from Miah and gave him a smile, "Thank you kind sir." She smirked and took the straw of the drink in her mouth. Of course she had to make it look, sexy. Miah answered her question about if he was having a good time and she grinned at his response. "Yeah, I suppose so. More entertained with the acts on stage than anything, but I can't complain." Oh if he only knew that now she was even more determined. She could make his night so much better. But no, she would take her time with this one. He seemed a little more careful then most men at a bar. Lette gave him a nodd, taking another sip of her drink. "How about yourself, sweetheart." Him calling her sweetheart made her stomach leap. Woa, that was knew. What the hell was that? She usually had such composure.
"I um..Yeah, the acts on stage are great. Some more comical than others." She blushed and took a drink again. Come on Lette, get it together. She couldn't let this man affect her so much. She knew what she wanted and his 'sweethearts' and 'darlings' weren't going to mess that up, she hoped. She shifted in her seat, getting a little more comfortable. It was sort of difficult to get comfy on a bar stool. Of course her next line would have been somethign along the lines of going somewhere a little more quiet, but she knew it was too soon. She had to hold back a bit. This guy would be worth it, she just knew it. "So did you come here alone tonight? Or maybe with friends?" She smirked, her Boston accent really showing tonight. She hated it really, a lot of people gave her shit for it all the time.

| He smiled at her response and nodded, "You're welcome, m'lady." She was sexy. There was absolutely no doubt that he was sexy, there was absolutely no doubt about it. She was the type of girl that Jeremiah could see men being all over, but he was quite surprised that she was sitting over here by herself. He would've figure that she would've been swarmed with men in no time and would be continuously throughout the night but that was not the case this time. He was presently surprised when he was the only one who had approached her. She seemed really sweet. She was blushing and acting really shy, but not in like a socially awkward way. It was in a completely innocent, adorable way. He was sure if this was a front that she was putting on specifically while she was at the bar or if this was how she really was, but he really like and enjoyed it regardless. He was already liking her company.
He chuckled and looked back towards the stage before returning his attention to the gorgeous woman beside him. "Haha, yeah, a lot of them are more comical than anything. My friends have been trying to tempt me to hop up there and do a song but I don't think I'm drunk enough for that," he mentioned with a shrug of his shoulders and he rubbed his chin with his fingertips. Most nights, he would jump up a do a song because he really didn't care whether or not he could sing, but tonight he didn't really feel like embarrassing himself. He didn't really know why, but didn't feel up to it. "Oh, uh, I came here with some friends of mine," he mentioned before looking around the bar to find them, "They're around her somewhere, I don't know."
"What about you?" he questioned, looking back at her and examining her for a moment. "Did you come with anybody or are you by yourself?" he questioned. Knowing Miah's luck, she probably came with somebody. She probably had a boyfriend or a fiancé because that's typically how it worked out for him. His luck was awful and he always ended up hitting on and flirting with a taken woman. Of course, it was never his intention and he always sincerely apologized for it, but it was always just how his life worked out.

COLETTE FRANKLIN | | "Thank you m'lady." Woa..that was a different thing to hear. Lette wasn't exactly used to men speaking to her like that. This guy seemed very polite and sweet and that intrigued her. He was very sexy. Lette had seen her fair share of very good looking men but this guy was different, in every way. She was quite suprised to not see a million girls surrounding him as she figured there should be. Oh well, just made it easier for her. She didn't like to compete for a mans attention, even though it was quite fun at times. She would definitely fight for this mans attention, that much was for sure. She gave him a smile and took a drink, only to be inturrupted. "Excuse me miss.... I couldn't help but see you sitting here. Mind if I join you?" Lette turned to look at the man. He was older then both of them but had a cuteness to him but she was already in conversation with this....Jeremiah...that she didn't really want her attention anywhere else. "Oh...I'm sorry darling. I'm here with my, " She turned to Miah and grinned and winked, "With my boyfriend." She turned back to the man and gave him a cute pouty look. "I'm sorry," she gave the man a shrug. He looked at Miah with a look of almost jealousy and then turned and walked away.
She turned back to Miah and grinned. "Well then, that was interesting." She giggled. "I hope you didn't mind." She raised her drink to her lips again and took a drink, following his gaze out to the stage. Lette didn't really have the courage to get up there and sing, at least not sober. She didn't really sing, not that she was bad but wasn't really all that great either. She turned back to look at the man beside her. "Haha, yeah, a lot of them are more comimcal than anything. My friends have been trying to tempt me to hop up there and do a song but I don't think I'm drunk enough for that." She giggled and watched him shrug his shoulders and rub his chin with his fingertips. God he was hot. Lette wanted to reach out and touch him, even if it was slight but for now she resisted. "I am totally right there with ya on that one." She smiled.
"Oh, uh, I came here with some friends of mind. They're around here somewhere, I don't know." She watched him look around the bar for a moment and then turn to her again. "What about you? Did you come with anybody or are you by yourself." Crap, now he was asking person questions. Lette took a drink and let out a breath. "I actually just moved here a few weeks ago. I uh... live above the bar." She watched hmi to see what he would do at the mention of that. "Makes it so I don't have to drive home at least." She shrugged, a light chuckle under her breath. "I don't know many people here yet." She looked up into his eyes. Why was she so drawn to him?

| Oh, how Jeremiah had spoken too soon. Of course some loser of a guy would walk over and try to grab her attention from him. It was so typical and so clichéd, for him, at least. Apparently it would just be to much of a hassle to be able to talk to and have five minutes to themselves without some douchebag to invite himself over and interrupt it. He looked over his shoulder at the man and then rolling his eyes, taking a chug from his beer and setting the cup down. He was taken aback from the words that came out of Lette's mouth, but he went with it... Why not? He didn't really see any harm in it. He couldn't help but let a smirk come across his face as he nodded at her and then looked at the male behind him who looked almost envious of him. Beat it, pal. he thought to himself before returning his eyes to Lette and smiling at her. Was it kind of odd that she referred to him as her boyfriend? Sure, but it was to get some random guy to back off, which was indeed a good sign. It meant that she as actually enjoying talking to him and wasn't dying to get away from him at any chance she could get. Honestly, that made him really glad because he was really enjoying talking to her. She was really cool to talk to.
Jeremiah shook his head and chuckled at her, "Indeed it was. And nah, I don't mind at all, darlin'. It's absolutely fine." To be quite honest, it didn't really bother him. He kind of enjoyed it, but he wasn't about to go brag about it or anything. It probably didn't mean much other than just a way to get the other guy to leave, anyway... Or was it? Miah mentally slapped himself and listened to Colette speak and he nodded in response. "Get a few more drinks in me and I might considerate it, but for now, hell no," he mentioned, shrugging his shoulders and chuckling a bit. However, he might not considerate it as much since now he had met this beautiful lady and he wasn't exactly about to embarrass the shit out of himself in front of her.
"Oh, I was curious of that! I hadn't seen you are around before so I was wondering if you were new to town or something," he said to her after she mentioned being new to town, "I mean, I know a lot of people around the town between my job and just being outgoing and as friendly as I am, so I was wondering where you had been hiding." He heard her mentioned that she lived above the bar and he nodded, smiling. "I bet that certainly make things easier some nights, huh?" he questioned, raising his brows at her for a moment and then taking a sip of his beer. He made a face as he realized how odd that sentence had sounded and he went to correct himself. "If you've been drinking a lot, I mean." |

COLETTE FRANKLIN | | While the man was standing their, Lette looked at Jeremiah. He almost looked upset or annoyed. Well, of course he would be. Another guy was dropping in and trying to steal her attention away from him. Oh but trust me, Lette was not about to let that happen. Because in the same sense, this man was stealing her attention away from Miah and she didn't like that one bit. He was taking a drink of his beer when she told the man she was here with her boyfriend, the man he just cut off. The look on the mans face was priceless and made her happy about her decision to say that. Miah didn't really seem to mind either and she gave him a flirtatious smile and a wink. Lette saw the smirk on Miahs face as well which made it even better. He was okay with it. She about laughed with the way Miah looked at the man and then back to her. Oh, this was priceless she thought to herself. Just perfect.
She grinned as he spoke, "Indeed it was. And nah, I don't mind at all, darlin'. It's absolutely fine." Lette was relieved as well that he didn't mind what she just did. He actually seemed to have liked what she did as well. She was quite glad that she had him to talk to and didn't have to sit with some boring man talking about things she could care less about. He was interesting and she was enjoying her time with him. Sitting their with him, Lette looked him over, taking all of him in. This man was truly handsome. Everything about him was sexy. His voice, his eyes, his smile. Oh lord, what was happening to her. She lightly cleared her thought and took another drink of her drink, which was now gone after that last drink. "Get a few more drinks in me and I might considerate it, but for now, hell no." She grinned. Oh, get a few more drinks in you? She wouldn't be taking him to the stage to sing that was for sure. Oh no, she would be taking him up to her apartment above all of the noise and commotion.
His interest seemed to peek when he heard that she was new in town. "Oh, I was curious of that! I hadn't seen you around before so I was wondering if you were new to town or something." She gave him a grin. "I mean, I know a lot of people around the town between my job and just being outgoing and as friendly as I am, so I was wondering where you had been hiding." Lette giggled. "Oh, so you know a lot of people?" She paused for a moment, "What exactly do you do mister popular?" She grinned. He was just so adorable. "I haven't been hiding anywhere sweetheart, been right here." She gave him another wink.
He seemed suprised at first when she told him she lived over the bar in the small apartment. "I bet that certainly make things easier some nights, huh?" Lette raised a brow at his comment, unsure at first what he really meant by that. She was about to say something when he seemed to realize just how bad that sounded. "If you've been drinking a lot, I mean." She giggled and grinned. "Yeah, sure thats what you meant. Yep." She gave him a hard time for it for a minute and then spoke, "but yeah, it really does make it easier to get home, not to mention safer as well after drinking." Of course, she had other reasons for being so close to the bar, but she wasn't about to let her little secret out, not just yet. Even though, looking at Miah then, it made her want him even more. No, calm yourself. You're having a nice conversation, don't ruin it. She thought to herself, talking herself into waiting. She wanted this man, and badly.
