Portia had a good life growing up. Her family lived in the lower class, but that didn't stop her family from enjoying what little they could. Portia had three sisters, and four brothers. All in all her parents had 8 children. It was a big family to handle, but living on 100 acres of land really gave all 8 of them something to do. Portia's father was a farmer, born and raised that way. He went to school, even went to college but his heart longed for the long fields of corn and the beautiful sight of a farm. When he met the love of his life and decided to start a family, he did it on the farm.Portia was the middle child, not old but not young. She looked up to her older brother and sisters quite fondly and helped care for her younger siblings. Portia learned that hard work was something she had been driven by. For many years Portia worked on the farm being home schooled.
When the time was to enter high school, she had a choice. She could stay on the farm and be home schooled through the high school levels or go to public school. Each child in the family got this offer when the time to enter high school came around. Her brother had gone and played sports. Her two older sisters had done the same, so Portia decided to get the action of the public school. It was a big day for Portia when she decided to start high school. Her younger siblings were jealous, and her older ones only snickered. The older there were making their way to moving out and scattering. Her brother had a scholarship to college, and her two sisters wanted to go to California to begin acting.
At that time Portia thought it was just some crazy dream they were following, but they had both been passionate about it. Portia had been fascinated with being a fashion designer for a while and when an offer came in the mail for her to go to work in New York a few months after graduating high school...she took it. The offer had been signed by a man named Jackson. He had a fashion stylist and had seen some of Portia's work on her little dinky site. He wanted to see her true talent, and had sent the letter hoping she would come. Portia just had a knack for fashion and found out as she came to New York that she could plan a hell of a party.
