meet miss brooklyn colby, born and raised in the bronx. her father was a drunk and her mother was often on some drug or drunk - to the extent that when brooklyn was a teen she had to take the woman to hospital a lot. she didn't really have the best upbringing but she wouldn't change it for the world, she knows that without it she wouldn't be the woman that she is today. her teen years were probably the worst, it was then that she watched her best friend die, lost her brother to drugs and the bad crowd, spent far too much time in the hospital with her mother and was beaten by the neighbourhood boys. all the hard work she put into school gained her a partial scholarship to columbia university where she got her mba. while in college she sang in a lounge as well as a few other jobs arounf the city. she is a tough cookie - but don't call her a cookie, she won't be too happy about that. she is very independent and will rarely accept help from anyone, she will argue it too, saying that she hasn't needed help before so she doesn't need it now. she has worked very hard to be where she is now - at the head of a marketing company - and won't let anyone forget it. friends are something that she will have - she is a decent person who knows that good friendships can last a lifetime. she will have some old friends that she's known since they were teens or college kids as well as some newer ones. she's willing to help someone out of she can relate to their troubles or feels that they need that help. i'd imagine there would be a number of enemies as well. she can be rather sassy at times and that can annoy some people. she also isn't one to take any crap from anyone and will definitely call out anyone on any comments or actions that they make that she doesn't like. lovers are something that she has sparingly. even at her age she isn't wanting anything serious, there may be some commitment issues in there but she doesn't see them as an issue. in her eyes she doesn't need a man and she will be just fine without one. but the occasional one night stand is welcome and even someone that she can have some occasional sexy time with.
