a mother
if you were to ask her what she is, she would tell you that she's a mother. and she'd also tell you that its the most important thing she's ever been. ethan is her little boy's name and he is about five years old now. and if you ask her, he was the only good thing to come out of her marriage to garrett. while sam has never expected to be a momma bear, she's a lot like her animals when it comes to mothering. don't go around messing with ethan, cause he's never alone, and momma bear will get really mad if you are the reason her baby boy is crying. she's probably a little on the overprotective end. she keeps her son shielded from the rest of the world whenever she gets the chance. and no one comes near him without a stern background check that she performs herself.
an ex wife
samantha was married to one garrett macbeth. they'd fallen in love during high school and got married as soon as she graduated. however, the marriage proved to be a pretty huge mistake after their son was born. sam just couldn't stand being a housewife while her husband was off cheating on her and living his dream life. their marriage crumbled, led to a divorce and split custody of their son. however, garrett doesn't seem to be understanding about their marriage being over. he is very possesive of her and constantly tries to scare away any possible suitors before they have a chance to get close. buttttt sam hates him, with a passion, and only plays nice for the sake of their son.
a stripper
Okay so this is definitely not a part of herself that she's proud of. while married, her husband was very fierce about making sure that she didn't finish her college degree. without a college degree there were only so many jobs that could make enough money to support her and her child while her parents paid for college. she heard about this particular job through a friend that used to frequent this particular joint often. it wasn't that hard for her to get the job, being a slim little blonde girl. she hates the job with a passion and is constantly looking for a new job.
a veterinary student
from a very young age, samantha was always more of an animal person then a people person. she grew up on a ranch in austin, texas and as a result, she grew very partial to her friends of the furry variety. in high school she was a variety of wild girl, animal lady, or that strange animal that goes to high school. of course, this never really bugged her, she always poured her woes out to her animal friends. sam has known for a long time that she's wanted to be a veterinarian. animals have always been her passion and she can't imagine a better life then one where she takes care of the critters who once took such good care of her. so she's currently finishing up her pre-vet degree and looking at applying to veterinary schools.

loving and patient
sam is a very loving person, even if it's not necessarily humans that she loves. she's got a big heart and is willing to do anything for anyone she cares about. she's also extremely patient. it's really hard to get her to the point where she's yelling and screaming. mostly she doesn't mind waiting, because life's too short to be wasted with yelling at people.
fiercely independent
so this is one of those things that makes it easy for her to be patient. sam is a very independent woman and if she can do it on her own, she will do it on her own. she can't stand the idea of depending on anyone for anything in her life. she would sooner live on the street then ask for help from anyone.
protective and jealous
when it comes to anyone she loves. sam is very protective. she will defend her loved ones with her life if it ever got to that point. they generally are her world and she knows it. which makes her pretty jealous about things. and she hates it. but its not terribly hard to make her jealous. kind of like a pitiful child.
a little naive and trusting
this probably seems a little ironic considering how protective she is. but all her time spent with animals has made her a little naive about human behavior. so when it comes to herself, she's very trusting about who she lets in and out of her life. with enough alcohol she would probably spill her entire life story to a total stranger.

SAMANTHA MARIGOLD LANCASTER originated in Lancaster, New York in December 23, 1988. Or at least, that's where she was born. See, sam was the result of a teenage pregnancy and her birth parents decided to give her away for adoption. The only thing sam kept from her parents was her moms first name, marigold. sam was adopted by james and mary beth lancaster. they took her to austin, texas, their hometown. she was an only child from the two. they'd been unable to get pregnant and she was their last hope.
but it was a good choice and they knew it. samantha was raised on a horse ranch. and so she grew up riding horses, cleaning up after horses and caring for them. from a young age, animals were always samantha's passion. her favorite person in the world was her sheep dog willow. that wasn't to say that she wasn't a very social person. she had a very normal upbringing. she had friends and was always social. but her closest friends were always the animals. but it was in high school that she found her best friend, the one she'd later fall in love with.
garrett macbeth was the school's good guy. he was a senior, good in everything he did but he was an especially good actor. and she was the small little freshman who was better friends with her animals than people. it was the cheesiest of love stories. the senior stole the little freshman away from from her animals. and when he graduated, they kept in touch. And when she graduated three years later, he proposed and she followed him to New York. from the very beginning, she'd gone to college to pursue a pre vet degree.
and was well on her way by the time they got married. she was twenty one at the time. and when they came back from the honeymoon, she found out that she was pregnant. and suddenly, she didn't have time to raise a baby and go to college. it wasn't long before she grew resentful of her husband, causing a riff in the marriage. by the time she was twenty five, they'd applied for divorce. they'd gotten shared custody of ethan. and she took up the highest paying job she could find, which just so happening to be a stripper. and recently she's decided to finish pursuing her veterinary degree.
