the rules
001. The Basics. We know them, you know them. They are the basic rules that every role playing site has. Treat others nicely, don't cause fights, don't hate on anyone, treat the staff with respect - we're here to help and make those tough decisions if need be - and have fun. Break any of these and you're out, banned and all that jazz.
002. When Registering an Account. There is to be one account per character, no exceptions. When registering feel free to use whatever name you feel like as a username with whatever letters and numbers and whatever. But once you have registered please change the display name to your character's full name in all lowercase, as such first middle last to make things look all orderly and pretty.
003. It's All About the Characters. Isn't that what a role play site is all about? Yes, no? Either way one can not say that they are not important. Here at The Art of Madness we don't have a character limit but we do ask that you know your limits - we will not accept any new characters if we feel that you aren't doing enough with those you already have. We also ask that you take note of the ratios of male/female and that of all the different member groups as we don't want too many of one and not a lot of another. We do not accept anything that resembles a perfect character, everyone has flaws, everyone.
004. All The Pretty Pictures. We love graphics and we love them even more if they look good and fit properly. Signatures can be whatever size just as long as it doesn't stretch the board, if we feel that it is too big we will tell you. If you have any troubles editing images or anything at all in this aspect please feel free to ask a staff member, or any member for that matter.
005. When we Actually Get Around to Posting. The backbone of a role playing site, the posting. We have a word count minimum of 350 words, there is a board dedicated to rapid fire mini threads for those things that don't need full length threads (or those things that just won't get the word count up there). Don't abuse that board though, otherwise we'll have to put limitation on it and we don't want to do that. There is to be no god moding or power playing, no-one likes that crap so it's a big no no.
006. The Most Important Thing, Ever. Have Fun. Hayley created The Art of Madness as a welcoming community of role players, a place to make friends, socialise with one's you already have and feel welcomed and comfortable. Please keep it that way. xox
